Macbook Air Aluminum Unibody?

Im confused. Ive seen some of the newer MBA's refered to as Aluminum Unibody (such as the more expensive, newer refurbs on the apple website).

Is there a difference in construction between the newer MBA's and the originals? I didnt think there was.....
 
The Macbook Air since day one was the first Unibody. Apple decided to implement the Unibody design from the Macbook Air into the Macbook Pro's and the previous gen aluminum Macbook.
 
They may have tweaked the case design a bit, but the MBA line has always had the aluminum unibody, it was the line that pioneered it.
 
Thank you both. For some reason the lower end refurbs on the apple website do not list the same way as the newer, higher end refurbs..... and there is no indication on the cheaper ones that they are, in fact, aluminum unibody. I wasnt aware of any differences, but i was confused with the way that they're listed. I didnt want to decide on a 1.6, PATA.... and have a cheaper construction also, lol. Thanks again.
 
I think that when Apple posts refurbs they just use the same description as when the item was originally for sale. They may have had different descriptions for the different revisions.
 
Anyone think that it would be more of a gamble than usual to get an MBA refurb considering the display line and hinge problems?
 
Definitely spend $200 more for the rev B series. The Nvidia 9400m will make the system a much speedier performer. Especially when Snow Leopard is released which will work with the 9400m. The Intel 3100 will NOT take advantage of OpenCL and Snow Leopard tech!

It's the easiest decision ever in my opinion. Set aside all the problems with the original.

I want to make sure i get a SSD, DDR3, and NVIDIA based on everything ive read. This one seems to be the best deal...... and i actually think i like the idea of a refurb at this point with the problems in display and hinge.

It's essentially the model I have (Apple typically changes the model number for machines bought through the refurb market rather than new), but a lot less expensive (bought mine new). I have been fairly happy with mine (it does have the faint lines and a creak in one corner). Too bad Apple doesn't appear to be throwing in the USB ethernet adapters with the refurbs now that they are including them with the new units (so called Rev C).

Do look into iStat, iStat Menus as well as Safari Ad block and/or ClickToFlash.
