Instant messengers not connecting

I've had my Macbook for about a month. The first week or two I had no problems using Adium, but later that month I found that it wouldn't connect to the internet. I tried using iChat, MSN, and Fire, but none of them can connect to the internet either. What could the problem be?
 
Do you have a problem with anything else connecting?
Are you accessing the internet from that computer now?
