I am a complete newb here..
I bought my iPhone with Cydia already installed and thought some of the packages were useless, so I deleted them.. among them were:
bigboss's source
cydia community sources
ispazio
modmyi.com
saurik's source
ste's source
zodttd's source
I want to install Snapture but I can't because I'm missing BigBoss's source.
Can anyone please help me get this source, and some of the others, back into Cydia? I tried adding BigBoss's source but it's not letting me, I don't think I have the latest updated source address.
Also, I noticed in Packages, I only had a few listed in there, but after deleting some of these packages, all of a sudden a list of 20+ sources appeared that wasn't there before. I'm not sure why this happened either?
Please shed some light on my newbism... Everything still works I just can't install certain apps in Cydia like Snapture :(
Thanks so much...!

Restore. Jailbreak again. Don't delete things unless you know what they are.

Do I have to Restore first or can I just start the jailbreak process?

Restore, jailbreak. In that order.

Well I tried and now the bloody thing is stuck in a reboot cycle after going thru the jailbreak process.. it gets to the reboot state where the apple logo comes on and the little rotating wheel is over it, then it reboots, comes back and reboots, over and over..
WTF

Try putting your phone in DFU mode - then restore through iTunes.

may be of help.

Why don't you just go into Cydia/manage/sources and add the repo's back that you deleted. Current source addresses can be found with Google.
Seems easier than doing a re-JB to me.
By the way, sources are similar to bookmarks, they don't take up much room in the phone.
Don't want to be harsh, but I hope you learned a lesson.

its ok I got it figured out.
I read recently that there are battery life issues when choosing Restore from Backup, and to only use Setup New iPhone..
Can you shed some light into this?
Is it worth me restoring again but this time setting up a new iPhone?
Let me know your thoughts

Yes I would always set it up as a new phone. I'm sure you read on the Dev Team's blog that they said that very same thing. So it can't hurt to try. :)

I'm still a bit confused about this redsn0w thing a bit...
Should I install with 0.7.2 or should I try to find the latest version? Does it matter? I know I ultrasn0w can be updated but how does newer versions of redsn0w work?
I appreciate the clarification! I dont want to install with an older version if I dont have to

Download redsn0w from here (blog.iphone-dev.org), and use that to jailbreak it. That is the official website.

You are confusing Ultrasn0w with Redsn0w
Redsn0w is at .0.8 -----> Jailbreak
Ultrasn0w is at .0.9.1 -----> Unlock
