How is this different from the 9800xt that you can get BTO on the new G5's? The first I heard of 9800xt for mac was today on the new G5 specs. I would suspect that the 9800xt from apple is clocked down, like the 9800pro is compared to the retail version.

The XT is better than the SE, but it is bigger, too, so it blocks one PCI-X slot.

Is the price difference going to be worth the price to upgrade to the 9800 Pro Video Card? Would it make more of a difference on the 2.5 & a 23" Cinema Display?

From what?

Here's (http://www.barefeats.com/rad9800s.html) a nice comparison between the Radeons 9800 and 9600

In short: If you already have (any) 9800, no need to upgrade.... But definitely MUCH better than the 9600.

I assume you mean 9800XT. IMHO, the extra $300 isn't worth it unless you're desperate for graphical power (i.e., big time graphics user, FPS gamer, etc.). The 9600XT should be plenty for the vast majority of users. Plus, you could buy nicer card later, when you needed it.
