iMac Core Duo (2006) wireless card cant get signal!

hey all, my friends first generation imac (core duo) has its wireless card broken. i got a replacement card through ebay and while osx and windows both detect it just fine, it still cant get a signal. this was the reason why i replaced it in the first place. ive tried reinstalling to no luck, and swapping out both cards. now im thinking the only thing i havent done is to swap out the wireless cable that gives it signal.

anything else i can do?
