Anyone running a Displayport to Dual-Link DVI Adapter Lately ?

Most reviews are *negative* enough....

Not sure if there is anything newer firmware than 1.02 but I need ~something~ to drive my new minty Eizo 30" on my unibody MBP
 
ive never had to download firmware for the miniDP-Dual Link DVI.

but its worked flawlessly with both a 15" uMBP and 17"uMBP
 
unless I'm living under a rock.....there is plenty well documented posts even on macrumors forums if not - apples store reviews.

The firmware on these things is not upgradeable. They are *cooked on* them.

What screens are you running with them ?
 
i am still having problems with this in Snow Leopard.

All 3 apple products, top-of-the-line Macbook Pro, 30" Apple Cinema display, and dual-link adapter. I have this horrible feeling Apple is just going release an update to the 30" displays and just *forget* about this issue..

They probably will. And all the folks with Dell 3008 monitors are getting Mini DisplayPort > regular DisplayPort cables, now that they exist, and bypassing Apple's glitchy converter entirely.
 
You should get that exchanged and try the newer firmware. I am stuck with the last non-Unibody because of the issues. Don't feel like trying my luck. But as you already got the hardware might as well try it.

Yea, back in February I have a unibody Macbook, exchanged the adapter once already at the local Apple store. Maybe its time again.. argh.

Some ppl over at Apple Discussions are saying that the newer adapter with v1.02 firmware (I have v1.01) combined with 10.6 are working out, but no one has reported back...
 
firmware v1.02 the holy grail ???

So I tried the Apple Store today. They would only open one replacement box at the store. It had v1.01 firmware. So nothing solved. I left with my old adapter.

Next I called Apple Care. They were definitely *aware* of the situation, but were unable to guarantee the newer firmware (v1.02), since the replacement comes from a warehouse in California. Understandable. I choose to have a new one shipped to me, in the hope that the warehouse has a newer stock than my local Apple Store.

I guess I'll report back in a week or so if anything good comes out of all this.
