Disable SMS pop-up?

Is there any way to disable the New Text pop-up on the 3GS running 3.0? I know you can turn off the preview, but i'm looking to get rid of the whole popup. I have notifier/reminder installed so I get the icon in my status bar so I don't really need the pop-up notification (especially while playing games!). Also, if i do disable the pop-up, will it still play the new text sound?

Its in the other settings near the bottom of the main screen. SMS and Call privacy.

Got it. Do you just turn SMS Privacy "ON"?
