The question: Is the ATI Radeon X800XT (in the top two fastest 3D gaming cards on the market) available for mac?

According to macmall, it is!

ATI (http://mirror.ati.com/products/mac.html) says nothing about this.. is it a misprint.

And if not, do you think they'd let me order my DP2.5G G4 without a card? :)

Plenty of stores have the X800 listed, but none of the stores have them in stock, including MacMall. I do not think ATi is going to release a Mac version of the X800 until they distribute the PC compatible X800s to resellers. I think the "PC & Mac" label on the MacMall site might be invalid information.

In other words, don't order this card. If you preorder and get in when ATi releases it, I doubt you would be able to make is Mac-compatible.
