Setup:

17" PowerBook, AE card.
Snow (V2, 802.11b) Airport BaseStation
Cable internet via ethernet to ABS

Problem:

Seems that the ABS will not give me a real IP address anymore. I can pull a real IP when hard connected to the cable modem with the ethernet cord, so I doubt it is Comcast's fault. No connection the outside world through Airport.

I have reset the ABS, I have returned it to defaults (which still seems to remember my settings???), I have left it off for a few hours. Still no love.

Also- I am unable to administrate the ABS wirelessly, I have to hard connect to it to "find" it. But, I can connect to it wirelessly for non-admin, i.e. surfing purposes. But, the problem is, my 17" is just supplying me with an ip, and not the ABS.

Any ideas?

I dunno if this will help, but when I switch from my base station to a direct connection to my computer I have to unplug and restart my cable modem twice in order to get it to accept the new MAC address.
