View Full Version : Apple In-ear headphones (separately bought) do not work unless I remove the mesh caps

I bought some in-ear headphones, but after a month, they stopped emitting sound. So I removed the mesh cap, which seemed to fix the problem. However, the buds are now extremely loose, falling off very often. Are my earphones faulty?

Certainly sounds that way. Take them back to Apple.

There should be a spare mesh cap that comes in the box. You can use those replacements first to see if it's just the mesh cap that's defective (or dirty).

You need to wash the mesh caps every once in awhile. I had this same thing happen to me about a week after owning them. Try putting on the clean spare set inside your box. If that works, then you know that you just need to clean them better.
