I just got this app to try last night for free. It seemed to work how I wanted it to with push so I decided to purchase it for $3.99 today. So far, so good. Anyone else like this app so far?

I purchased it but cant find a use for it yet because you cant set advanced alerts. It's not good alerting me to a Vet appointment at the exact time (or sometimes after) the appointment time.

I see what you're saying. Why not just make multiple reminders then?

i got it too and use it constantly and its a great app :D
but then it does have some limitation though, and loading up takes a little too much time to load up the notifications.

Then that kind of defeats the object. Right now my calender does the job perfectly as it allows for numerous alerts before the event. Plus, if I wipe my phone my calender is synced to Google Calenders. Does notifyme back up my reminders?

I agree with you on the loading times. A little too long for me. I started using Todo which is more inline with what I needed.
NotifyMe is a nice app though. Keeping it around till Todo gets push notifications.

I wrote Powerybase about this exact issue. They said an update is coming in the next 30 days that will allow advanced alerts along the lines of Remember the Milk.
e.g. Every weekday, every other day, etc.

Isn't that what the calendar is for?
If not, couldn't you set the alert for 30 minutes earlier and have the task name be "Leave for the Vet"?

Yeah, i love this app so much its earned a space on my homescreen. Great for making quick reminders for yourself for specific times in the future.
I had been following the creator, powerybase, for a while before it was released, and although i was caught out with an AM/PM bug in v1.0, v1.1 solved everything for me and is now easily up there with the messages app in terms of how often i use it.
Best £2.39 i have spend on the app store to date easily.

Yes. That's what the calender is for! But, isn't that with NotifyMe is for as well? For example, whats the point in being reminded about someones birthday on the day. Very hard to organise getting a card and/or birthday present in that time!

The app icon reminds me of those Mario exclamation blocks:

Then set a reminder two days before the calendar item. Or, do what I said earlier: Set an appointment for an earlier time and say something like "Get and send card to Sam for birthday".

This app sounds like a MAJOR scam to me. Explain to me exactly what does it do that the calendar app cannot :confused::eek::confused::eek:

I'm just confused as to what purpose this serves that the calendar (an app that can work both in and out of service areas) doesn't already do?

Agreed. I use my alarm clock for reminders more often than my calendar. AND I get to set the alert to whatever tone I choose.

Sometimes I just can't believe what kind of garbage people would buy if they are told to buy it

Hi guys,
I'm Dominik from PoweryBase, dev. team of NotifyMe. We've been trying hard to let people understand what's the difference between Calendar and NotifyMe. I couldn't describe it better myself, so here's a user's comment from NotifyMe review on AppVee.com. Hopefully it clears things up a little bit:
I wouldn't really compare NotifyMe to Calendar.app from Apple.
NotifyMe:
1. Start typing immediately on launch
2. Scroll the time
3. Tap "Save"
Apple Calendar:
1. On start, you have to tap "+"
2. The "title" (reminder name) brings you to the next screen
3. Type the reminder
4. Tap "Done"
5. Tap "Starts", you have to set the start date on the separate sceen
4. You have to tap "Ends"
5. Set the time AGAIN
6. Then you tap "Done"
7. Then you tap "Alert"
8. Then you have to SCROLL to the bottom
9. Tap "On date of event"
10. Then you have to tap "Done"
Oh my god! 10 steps for adding a simple reminder? Who would do that? And why would anyone want to do all of this and find himself bloating his Calendar with reminders like "Take out the trash"? Calendar si for important events, meetings, work, not for simple reminders.
We are also building a separate web interface, where users will be able to log in with their account, manage their reminders and also set a reminder for their husband/wife/kid/friend/whoever who permits that feature for the target user. More advanced features are in the works. We believe saving your reminders remotely and delivering them via Push has a lot of benefits and we are working to deliver them to our customers.
