Hey guys, first off, I want you guys to know I do have the dvd, BUT my cd/dvd combo drive doesn't work, it doesn't read dvd's but it reads/writes cd's... I might get it replaced next month, when I have enough money for it.

but I just want to know I have the DMG file for the leopard. I already partitioned my external (WD Passport 160gb)

So do I just go to disk utility > then restore tab > Source would be Leopard.dmg > Destination would be My MacBook's HDD?

is that how it works?

Reboot Hold ALT, then continue with the installation?

I just want to make sure, maybe this isn't the right way. If anyone can tell me how to do this. Please reply to the thread.

Wirelessly posted (BB 8900: BlackBerry8900/4.6.1.250 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/301)

I want to say, but am not positive, that you can only do that with a firewire drive. You should not be able to boot from USB.

where would you get a dmg file for Leopard? Usually this is an indication of a pirated copy and forum rules prohibit helping with piracy.

Installing leopard from a usb hd works fine, it's only PPC mac's that can't boot from usb.

I installed leopard via usb on my eMac. It can work you just need to play with it until everything works for you.

Like I said, It's not a pirated copy of Leopard, because my DVD drive doesn't work, and I happen to have backed up all of my software to my other external, just in case anything happens to my macbook.

And thanks for the reply guys.

I'll let you know how it goes.

reason why i need to re-install leopard, IT'S REALLY SLOW!
it's like booting a windows computer.
