Low speedtest results using my mac

Hi

When I run speedtest on my white macbook 2.4 ghz with N wi-fi, I get around 7 mbps in download speed. My brother, who has a laptop with vista and N wi-fi as well, get easily 10 mbps...... WTH??

I tried clearing the cache on safari but nothing.... what can be doing this?

I'm sorry but what's DNS?

We're both connected to the same router.

EDIT* This pisses me off because my ISP just upgraded my Internet service from 5 mbps to 10 mbps yesterday. I don't understand why am I not getting the max speed which is 10 mbps even though I use to get 5 mbps on speedtest when I had a 5 mbps connection.

I just tried it with ethernet and I got 10 mbps... Maybe my Airport is defective or something. Is there a way to reinstall drivers or something?
