It starts to sync every time I connect it to my laptop. I can cancel it right away, but I wonder if I can change the setting so that it wouldn't start syncing automatically.

I'd much prefer if it syncs only when I want it to sync. At least, I wish it would ask me to sync first.

I see no such option in Settings. Is there one?

Sure stop it by hitting the X on the right side of the iTunes window then set your preferences to not sync when it is plugged in.

I am sorry, but I still don't see the option. I only see Preferences under Edit, but that's not it.

BTW, I have an iPod Touch, not iPhone.

Are you looking on the iPhone "Summary" screen?

Oh... sorry. I've found it.

My netbook screen is so small I didn't know there's more in the bottom. :o

Thank you!!!

I believe iPhoto has the same setting if your netbook is a Hackintosh, or Windows can stop that photo wizard popping up too if you just click do nothing and remember this setting. :)

How to disable or prevent your iPhone from automatically syncing when you connect it to your computer.

1. Open iTunes.

2. Click iTunes > Preferences (on a Mac) or Edit > Preferences (on a PC)

3. Deselect Disable automatic syncing for all iPhones.

Good to know! Thanks for the tip, I have promptly checked the box. :)
