I have my iPod Touch 2G locked with a passcode and recently when I tried to turn it on it showed the "connect to iTunes" diagram.
When I plug it into my iMac an error box comes up saying "iTunes could not connect to iPod "iPod Touch" because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPod before it can be used with iTunes."
However, it is not possible for me to enter my passcode as I cannot turn the iPod on.
If anyone can help then please tell me as this is getting frustrating.

Hi, I'm having the same issue. I am curious as to how you fixed it. If you were to let me know I would be grateful.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Sorry can't remember exactly now. Was some type of mode that you got the iPod into by pressing the buttons at the right times... Just look on the net for all the recovery modes and everything you can get it into and try them all.
