unlocked 3GS & terrible battery

Hi,
I unlocked my 3GS with ultrasn0w and when I use another sim, the battery life is terrible (around some hours even when it's stand by).

This happens only with a SIM of another carrier. When I use my official SIM everything is fine.

The dev-team says on their last update (http://blog.iphone-dev.org/post/144907200/ultratips) this:


Unusual battery depletion is almost always caused by people choosing to “Restore from backup” instead of “Setup as new iPhone” when iTunes asks you. This isn’t caused by either the jailbreak or the unlock, but it’s a common 3.0 snafu.


But in my case this happens only with a 3rd party sim. Shall I restore the original fware and start again ?

I would since you have a genuine problem.

Remember to choose set up as a new phone, you can sync back your stuff later.

If using Categories, don't forget to remove apps from folders first.

I have the same problem on both my 2G iPhone and 3G iPhones. The battery drains a % ever few seconds when I use my GoPhone sim in it. This happens even when the phone is set up as a new phone or from a backup, it doesn't matter.

The 2G iPhone is running 2.2.1 and still has the battery drain with the GoPhone sim.
