I have a nice gooseneck ipod mount that fits into the 12V accessory socket in my car. It is made by TEN technology and was apple certified for the ipod. The company is no longer operating. When i plug the iphone 3 Gs into the mount I get that non-compliant message and airplane mode choice. Is there any workaround that I can use to get the iphone to let my mount charge it?

If you just click "No" do you get the charging symbol? My Alpine stereo does similar, it says that this accessory isn't designed to work, blah, blah but it works and charges absolutely fine.

Nope. Doesn't charge.

You'll probably find that the car mount uses the older Firewire charging circuitry that doesn't charge 3G and 3GS iPhones which use the USB circuitry. I had to get a new charging cable for my USASpec iPod adapter so that it would charge my 3G iPhone
