Larry Jordan says I need to take my Gamma down to 1.8?

I was under the impression mac users should make their gamma 2.2... I use final cut pro and I just want to make sure I have my laptop set up correctly for editing. Any clarification would be most helpful.

He says 1.8 because FCP changes the gamma of the Viewer and Canvas windows to simulate 2.2.

Keeping your display at 1.8 will have what you see in FCP look a bit more right than if you kept your display at 2.2.

This should change in 10.6, though - where  has (finally) changed default gamma to 2.2.
