What kind of sensitive info is gonna go through cydia? Honestly the only way your stuff can be remotely compromised is if you have open SSH turned on, and you don't change the password/leave it on all the time.

Cydia is safe.

Also, haven't you thought 'what if my phone is stolen?'

I wouldn't say it would be wise to keep credit card numbers on it.
Email addresses + phone numbers are normally on a standard phone so..

whelp, the repo could get hacked, and they change some programs to steal your info. You "upgrade" your current programs to it, and get screwed.

Could be a possibility :)

Password option to wipe your iPhone after 10 failed password attempts should do the trick.....:eek::eek:

So you are going to jailbreak a device meant for business? I'd recommend against it lest you possibly be fired. :)

As for your original question, Cydia is safe, so long as you trust the repositories you add to it. The defaults are well known (iSpazio, BigBoss, etc) and tend to be more reputable.

I wouldn't trust anything going by the name BogBoss...

Haha, that's what I get for not double checking corrected text. :)
