View Full Version : iphone firmware files showing up as folders...help please!

im trying to jaiblreak my iphone 3g and i downlaoded the firmware file and it shows up as a folder with a bunch of files in it. how can i get it to become the the .ispw file? i tried downloading it from another site also to make sure it wasnt what i downloaded. please help.. i have a macbook

Look for foobar.ipsw.zip in your trash. Move it elsewhere. Rename it to foobar.ipsw

You have to remove the .zip from the end of the file, and it will work just fine.

It's not really called that, I think he was just filling in something because he doesn't know the exact file name. Just drag it out of the trash and remove the .zip from the file name, and iTunes will recognize it correctly.

use a different browser to download the file. Safari doesn't like downloading the firmware files correctly, but firefox grabs them fine...
