Normally i also have a midi keyboard installed but that one is at my brothers place at the moment. But the mixer is mainly for playing with traktor a bit, also use it for logic. But i primarely use the mixer when i have to do a show in a club or something. Then I use it in combination with turntables or cd players and my ibook running traktor. I wish i had al that gear at home too.. but you can't have it all:o

Congrats, how do you like the new MacBook? I love the innovative design of the latch, and the new way to replace the RAM and the HDD is also quite freaking awesome. I cant wait to see what they do with these features in the future and in the MBP line. Also, what are the specs of the PB pushing the ACD?

Yeah my Mighty Mouse isn't the "real" 2 button mouse Apple advertises. It takes it a second or two for the right click to register. I hate that, and sometimes I even resort to using the Control key just because it's quicker.

Well, I am 175 cm, and I am not claustrphobic. I bought the desk in ILVA for 1.500 DKK (approx. 200 bucks). It's real solid. I've had 2 pc desktops on it with 2 CRT screens.

It is an iKub, made by the vinyl toy company Kubrick. more pix -> http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=204042
They released an iPod holder for the 4G models quite a while back, limited run, I ordered mine via HMV Japan.
I decided not to sell it on ebay for £££ as I just love using it.
It came in a cool box as well. My pic is crappy, so I am willing to take some better pics of the box and the iKub, if you want.
To find one now - ebay or possibly some import sites.

you have to lift your left finger to right click.

I've finally got round to taking a picture of my Mac Mini / Entertainment setup. I love having the Gamecube on the same footprint as a Mac (though I wonder if my Airport reception is suffering because of it :) ).

I was gonna set up my GameCube like that, but ended up getting an iMac instead of the Mini. Now I'm all about color scheme. I have 2 PSTwo's 1 black 1 white in the virtical stands. I'm gonna place them beside the iMac and a second monitor. I was going with the black Samsung 215TW, but I think I'm gonna look around for somethng with an integrated tv tuner and remote. The Sony MFM-HT205 looks good, but it's not black. Suggestions...

My brother has just decided to buy one of these:

I have to say that I'm very pleased with my LG TV in my photo above (despite the poor quality of my cameraphone photo). That's why my brother is looking at LGs.

The top of the mini is very easy to scratch, and your wireless connectivity is probably suffering as well. I'd suggest putting the mini on top if possible.. :)
EDIT: Gamecubes load from the top right? Ikea makes these really cute shelf things that would be perfect for you. If I see one soon I'll get the name for you.
Nice setup though!! :D

Most likely a top resolution around 1280x720. That's usually where the HD projectors run, though the really expensive ones can hit a full 1920x1080.
h0e0h
Jun 2, 2006, 11:10 AM
could be 1366x768, but based on the size of that window in context with the font and other portions of the screen, its probably not 1920x1080... especially if he bought it in 2004... a 1080p projector back then would have been unheard of, or wicked expensive.

I have the MacBook open if i'm away from the desk :) But when sat at my desk, it's easiest to plug everything in and just use the larger screen. I could do dual screen, but i don't really like that.

So, question. You only eat and drink organic things? Well, I'm assuming when the option exists? Just curious of how hard this is day to day. I'm currently a vegan who eats mostly organic, but it's hard with my limited access to supermarkets around here and such - though I'm lookin' to expand my horizons.

Well we have many organic stores. There are a lot of diverse people here. It's REALLY hard for me though, because I don't have sugar, if it's organic or not. It's hard to get anything that doesn't have sugar, meat, or artifical flavors in it. ugh. This enclosure was bought last year and hast a heat switch (kills drive power if heat goes above 50*C I think??), but my friend has one that's two-three years old and it died on him. I didn't shut this one too tightly either, so heat doesn't have to much trouble escaping.

Well if it came with a drive in it you should be fine. Mine was just an enclosure that I put my own drive in (a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 8 ATA). I when it was running I could hold the outside of the case for more then a minute but the drive inside I couldn't hold for more then a few seconds with out getting burnt. If you're really worried about it you can run it without the lid on it. Luckily for me all I had on the drive was some source code which could easily be replaced.

It's the Laser 5000 (wireless)
Did you have to buy as a set (keyboard & mouse)? I would love to have the mouse (but no need for the keyboard). Does it use the same logitech control centre (Mac) as the MX1000?
Love the speakers, Klipsch are the best. Great setup

I bought the mouse separate, it's made by Microsoft so it uses their software not Logitech's. And to answer storage's question, they are Klipsch Pro Media 2.1

In a few months the Logitech logo on that mouse with ware out and there may be a few white marks from ware on the silver part. Just a warning, I've had mine forever and I had to put a sticker over the logo because it looked so unappealing after a while.

I'm a big fan of my iCurve - I use it with my MBP as well (and I don't have a wireless keyboard/mouse)
I use it with an external monitor, so it's closed a lot of the time...but at least it stays cool and looks nice :)
Don't pay full price for one - I got mine for under 20 bucks with a buy.com coupon.

Yes, but mainly it's just there for listening. When I'm at home, I'm almost always by computer, so putting the turntable anywhere else would be an inconvenience. heh.
Turntable and computer are plugged into a really old Realistic mixer that somebody probably bought at a RadioShack 20 years ago.

Nice set up, and nice truck! How do you like your macbook? Im thinking about going from my 12 inch ibook g4 1.2 512 to the macbook. Hows the heat everyones talking about?
hey thanks
about the heat, i've only had it ffor about 48 hours now, but i've put it through its paces a lot. it doesn't seem to get much hotter than about 75º (the cpu) and it is definitely bearable on your lap, the places that get the hottest are the upper left corner when its plugged in, and the middle-right area to left area. anything by the trackpad stays nice and cool.
i love the keyboard on it, i think it is the best i've ever typed on but thats just a personal opinion. the trackpad is MASSIVE. although i'm comparing to that of a 12" powerbook. it is very wide and not very tall. i'll only ever use part of it.
the display seems to be a lower resolution then i expected....it seems a LITTLE bit squished, but that just may be me being picky. the glossy screen looks great, and if you ask me it is easier to view outside than my powerbook. but it is the HARDEST thing to clean ever, you leave smudges ande everthing everywhere ESPECIALLY the screen.
and finally, one little accent that i loved about the black macbook, is the bright green lights for the isight, caps lock and num lock, they really stand out and make it look amazing

yes......i took apart my powerbook, becasue i spilt lemonade (i'm a dum*** i know) and it was COMPLETELY dead, so i took out the keyboard, and took out some of th estuff inside it to try and part it out, the hard drive still worked etc. so then i didn't really need the keyboard and thought it would look good....superglued to the top of my desk....

I haven't had any problems with them yet, going on 1&1/2 months. They are a little difficult to get the hard drive to fit into, and some people have reported not being able to get their HDD to fit at all, but I was able to get both mine in. The drives I put in them are different, but both fit. (IBM and Western Digital) I haven't seen the Lacie's in person so I can't really comment on them. I picked these up at Fry's. Noise wise, I never here them, but I usually have some background noise on(radio, fan, tv, etc...)

Here's my current setup, I intend to get it more maccish in Autumn. (2,0GHz Core Duos both, MB has 2Gb and iMac 1,5Gb of RAM. Two external hard drives hidden in a cabinet under the iMac).
Edit: And thanks for the musical reminder & tip guys, it's certainly an "Iris-phase" in my life again. Have to try their new album then :)

That's one fancy Cube you got there. Hope you do some benchmarks once it's totally set up, see how it compares to others in the Photoshop benchmark thread!
I promised when I got processor and rams, then I do some benchmarks.

The camera that i was using for the first picture is not that great but that setup is where i spend most of my time when i am using my laptop. The second picture is where i sometimes use my laptop which is by my bedside. I sometimes use it there if i am i am feeling particularly lazy.

This GF 6200 is pretty powerful because I can run "Aperture" with that.(soon I got Sonnet single/dual upgrade processor)
Buying list now:
-2*512mb sdram
-Airport Card
-Upgrade processor
This is an awsome looking computer

designed, love the setup. just a lot of cables. :) the dual screens are great!
Thanks :) I didn't really bother to fake a no-cables setup for the shot. A USB hub in the cabinet would be a great thing, now I have to juggle between key chain memorysticks and a memory card reader etc. and there's double cabling for the iPods (solid firewire and usb->dock cables). Maybe in the Autumn with a new table and a new apartment :D And maybe they'll make a cordless version of Mighty Mouse by then, already have the wireless keyboard on stand-by.
And yeah, got to love dual screens. I keep Safari on the the secondary display and rest of the windows in the primary screen and if I'm watching anything full screen on the primary screen, I use the secondary screen for IRC & IM. My friends seem to be puzzled by the dual screen setup though, especially the girls :D
Some amazing setups but benjamindanes' setup stole my heart, that's really something.

TV. Just going to get a high quality LCD to replace this old ugly CRT. I don't want my monitor to be my TV.
