Authorities in the Austrian village of ********** have installed CCTV cameras in an attempt to stop tourists acting out the name in front of their road signs.
The tiny rural hamlet has been plagued by visitors filming themselves in sexually explicit positions with the name '**********' in the background.
'I'm sure each of them think they're the first to think of it, but believe me they're not. We've grown very tired of it and we're doing something about it,' said one fed up resident of the village near Salzburg, which has a population of just 104. Pennsylvania has some good towns to visit as well. There is, of course, Intercourse PA, which isn't far from Blue Ball.
The Pennsylvania Dutch were just more subtle than the Austrians, that's all...

Missouri has a town named Knob Lick and another one named Cooter.
I've driven through Cooter, but given it's location deep in the south of the Bootheel where everyone's related to each other, I kept on driving and didn't stop to get what the town is named after ;)

Hmmmm, are they saying that, in this case, they ultimately decided that that particular bird was worth more in the bush than in the hand? :D

W**k tells ********* to get a grip
http://img.metro.co.uk/i/pix/2009/08/w--ksignpostCEN_450x300.jpg
Fed-up residents of the Austrian town of ********* are being offered a helping hand by their German neighbours in a town named W**k.
The people of ********* have grown tired of English-speaking tourists acting out their village's name (and also, no doubt, of amused British journalists writing stories about it.)
But now residents of the German town of W**k have told them grasp the opportunity...Metro (http://www.metro.co.uk/weird/article.html?W**k_tells_*********_to_get_a_grip&in_article_id=714925&in_page_id=2).

Personally, I think the W**kers have it right, although Beaverlick many times seems like an excellent place to be in the customer satisfaction business.
