Smart Playlists on the iPhone

I have a Recently Added playlist that I managed to set up to show me my entire library in the reverse order the songs were added. Sometime recently though, it just stopped working on my phone. It was showing older songs at the top, newer ones in the middle and older ones at the bottom etc. It wasn't in any sort of noticable order at all. In iTunes however, the playlist is perfect.

Does anyone definitively know how to order smart playlists and keep them ordered? Or what I'm doing to interfere with them working?

What's the best way to set up a 'Recently Added' playlist for example?

This is my recently added smart playlist. Think it was the one iTunes had set up. There isn't an order to the playlist.

Yeah that's pretty much what I've got. But how do you order it? I've done it before but it keeps breaking.
