Maybe a dumb question but I've never had it before...

In the lower-right corner of my whitebook, there's a bright white oval of sorts about 1/8" in diameter. It can only be seen when there's a white background (like right now here in the forums).

After trying to clean it like it was a smudge :D, I'm almost certain the pixels are dead in that spot. Given the size of the area, how many dead pixels are we talking about and would Apple replace my screen?

It's no big deal really since it's at the bottom but if this thing were in the middle it would be quite annoying.

If they were dead, they would never change off from that particular color. They may just be a high point in brightness, which is rare/odd but not unheard of I guess.

If it's 1/8" in diameter, you can calculate the number of pixels in there. The screen is 1280x800 pixels, 11.2" wide, 7.04" tall from a quick search. That means there are 114px per linear inch. Area=pi*r^2--> Area= 3.1415((1/16)^2) which equals 0.012 square inches. With 12,996 pixels per square inch(114*114), that would make for 155 or so affected pixels in your 1/8" circle.
