Hey everyone,
I love using Windows 7 RC on my Aluminum Macbook, however does anyone else experience their fan constantly running at full speed like it is overheating. It rarely is heard running under OS X, didn't know if it was a Windows 7 thing, or a Windows thing in general. For example, the fan will go at full speed if just talking on Windows Live Messenger. Though, for the most part I get better battery life with Windows 7, about 3 hours. Whereas about 4 - 5 in OS X.

Anyone else experience this fan issue?

Thanks.

PS - when putting my hand on the keyboard, I can feel it getting very hot, hoping I am not doing damage to my Macbook, makes me nervous that I am going to break something.

Do you have drivers installed for everything, including system devices? If certain components don't have the proper drivers installed the system may be unable to throttle components down into power-saving modes when not needed. If you have drivers installed for everything, check and make sure that you don't have any runaway processes in the Task Manager eating CPU cycles. If everything looks fine, I wouldn't worry further, since you are also using an unfinished version of Windows, many builds prior to the RTM build. Just ensure that the system is properly ventilated.

Running Windows will make it run "HOTTER" but it doesn't mean the system will overheat. I left my MacBook Air on overnight, while running SETI@Home with CUDA. The system got hot but the temps never rose over 85 deg C for GPU and CPU. The system will automatically manage temperatures, you're fine.
