A member on a racing site I read did some testing last weekend with his iPhone in his racecar and found that it works much better than any radio he has tried so far. The phone is used to communicate with his pit crew while he is on track. He just taped the earbuds to his hears so the helmet wouldn't rip them off and stuffed the phone in his fire suit.

The only problem he has is that if the call gets dropped he can't answer the incoming call with his gloves on and can't reach the earbud button due to his head and neck restraint.

Does anyone know a way to add a big external button to the earbuds? I was thinking something easy enough to hit with driving gloves on that he could plug his earbuds into then plug into his phone. Any ideas? I've tried Googling for any info on how the earbud button actually works but can't seem to find anything.

It looks like that piece only allows regular headphones. The idea is to still use the regular Apple earbuds with the built in mic, just with a bigger button that easier to push and can be put somewhere else.
