Sometimes Safari will not display a new favicon immediately because it is referring to a cache from an earlier visit. Just delete the folder located at ~/Library/Safari/Icons.

And please, it's Mac not MAC.

Try "Safari Icon Manager" listed on version tracker

p.s. anyone with half a brain can interpret the meaning of MAC or Mac depending on its usage so don't be worried about people getting upset, it really isn't a big deal. Your post. Hope the cache clearing helps.

Works on Safari and Firefox here.

Agreed, the image is around 300k, which on 56k will take around 50 seconds. People will lose interest. I've tried compressed it down in photoshop and I have got it to around 60k with little visible difference.

I had the same problem with my site arfon.org, I had been to site using Safari before I added a favicon. I never did get Safari to load it (although all other browsers did). I think Safari has some caching issues!
