I know I can get free wifi on my iphone at at&t locations like mcdonalds. Is there a way to tether that connection to my macbook? I know you used to be able to spoof any connection into thinking it was an iphone but they killed that quickly. I haven't tried yet it was just a "hmmm I wonder" idea.
Thanks
Jason

Um... would it be possible to use your MacBook's Airport card for the McDonald's wifi? Just a guess.. :p

when you sign on you enter your phone number then they text you a link to connect with. so no you still need to log-in.

Oh...kay? You can still use your MacBook; just use the link's information in your MacBook.

If you are able to tether to your iPhone, you should be able to tether using 3G, you don't need WiFi.....

Go into safari preferences and turn on the developers menu.
In the developers menu choose User Agent > Mobile Safari Iphone.
Then the browser announces itself as an iPhone. I've used it in airports where they only let mobile devices online.

No. Well, yeah, unless you want to pay the fee. :p
McDonalds currently offers free wifi for iPhone users. Connect to wifi on the phone then tether it works just fine.
