I love the song played in the UK iTunes TV ad, I know the song, and I can picture the band, but I can't remember the name or the band or track for the life of me! Anyone know?

i have been trying to remeber who that song was by all day. i thought it was the hives. then i read it was the vines - got all excited prepared to give apple my 79p ... and its not there! gutted. it doesnt appear to have any of the songs i want

They have other stuff by the Vines, you really would think they'd think to offer the track they have selected for their own commercial :rolleyes:

It is not the VINES!

Now that we've got that out of the way, the UK iTunes ad uses "Walkie Talkie Man" from Steriogram on the Schmack album (which is on iTMS) It doesn't even sound like the Vines, so I don't know why there is so much confusion :confused:

Having not seen the ad, I can't be sure, but I had heard that it was Steriogram. I'm a bit of a Stereogram supporter, because I know Brad's sister :)

That is most definitely the Steriograms. This was first debuted at the the SJobs presentation.

right, that is what was played at the beginning of the itms presentation the other day - and yes that song is the steriograms (or however you spell it) its a decent song, well anyway. the bit where the person is walking past the ipod ads that dance, the music has been changed from the ones they show i on the proper ipod ad - and that is infact the vines and ride, there is a big thread somewhere discussing it when that ad was brought out.

Yes, they could afford a 2 minute ad.

...and also, that ad isn't UK specific as it was shown in the US long before. The one shown at the iTMS UK presentation is UK specific as it has never been aired for the US.
