Do you think Apple will ever make colorful computers again?

Well, do you? I just saw some of the Sony Vaios, and that pink crocodile skin one is CUTE! I would love to have an Apple notebook that was pink. I've been saving my money for a MacBook Pro, and I'm having second thoughts since seeing those Vaios.... :eek: Ahh....when the iBooks had that colorful stripe on them. :D

Nope. Maybe if they make a netbook, but since they are trying to get more cred. in the business world, not for now.

If they're trying to get more cred. in the business world, they should make it an option to have a company logo some where on the computer. :cool:

Offering etching of a company logo wouldn't be a half bad idea. However, I don't think they lose any "cred" as you say. I believe it would be nice to have an aluminum color option but as there was some huge debate over the professionalism surrounding the white iPhone, or lack thereof, I wonder if anyone would drop the cash on a colored notebook if they know they'll use it in a business setting. I know I would be fine doing it. I'd prefer not to work with or for people who judge me based on the color of my computer or phone.

If they were gonna go for colors again, it would be the Black MacBook and White MacBook. Not pink or any other colors.

History nearly always repeats itself. May take a few years, but I absolutely think we'll be seeing tangerine and blueberry iMacs or whatever they might be called in the future.

Look at the iPods... white, then colored, then black and white again, now "oh look, buy a new nano, we have colors!!". Apple treats putting out colors like a whole new product.

iThink it's more they are trying to get the "oh look that's such a cute Mac." Things like built-in Exchange Support in Snow Leopard will help a lot more then a logo. But making pink computers is not going to help the cause.

My boss had a Pentium-M Dell Inspiron with a black leather top case. It was interesting. I really don't like the pattern on the Sony notebooks from the OP.

Product RED MacBooks would have heen incredible.

The OP asked about "colorful computers". The Jesus tablet will most likely be a jumbo media/entertainment/gaming appliance and not a "real" computer.

I loved it when Macintosh computers had unique colors. I have a graphite iMac G3, and IMO it looks very sleek...

There we certainly better designs then. Much more unique...now if you see the front of a MacBook Pro in a coffee shop it can be easily confused with some Dell notebook. Of course -- Apple's market share is better then ever now with it's new designs so I suppose its working for them. :p

Imitation, the highest form of flattery. Sony and Apple have competed against each other in the industrial design ring for years.

When Apple did the translucent G3 iMacs, did you notice all the other non-computer related products that adopted the same design scheme to play to the iMac user market?

i just remembered that dell lollypop commercial i saw the other day. i just don't see apple doing that anytime soon

I could see the Macbook line getting color options. Fits in with the consumer interest in colors. An iPod and Macbook with matching colors sounds pretty good to me. :) Maybe the colored versions of the Macbook would need to be special ordered, though.

Now, I don't see the MacBook Pro or any of the Desktop computers getting color options. I also don't see any Apple products getting the funky patterns that the latter G3 iMac's had.
