Space Jam - our game released!

Space Jam is a retro looking sci-fi arcade game with real physics, where you have to collect little ufonauts with your UFO, trying to avoid crashes with asteroids and mines.

The gameplay is unique because you move your UFO on a light beam like a YoYo. You must be very skillful to get the highest possible score.

Control:
Touch the UFO on the screen with your finger and move your finger to pull the UFO into different directions. As quicker you move your finger, as quicker will the UFO bounce around on the screen.

Try to find the right speed to collect the ufonauts. If you are too quick or too slow, they will be cicked away.

Might want to look into changing the name. I don't think Warner Bros. would like you using their name.

The words "Space" and "Jam" can't be copyrighted. These are regular words.
I don't change anything.

There are many things called space jam from music to games.

Our game plays in space and there is a jam.
In the movie there is no space and no jam at all :D

They might be words alone, but together they are a title to a franchise. There is the movie, the soundtrack and I believe multiple video games with the same title and subject matter.

According to their website, http://www2.warnerbros.com/spacejam/ "TM and © Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. 2003. All rights reserved." I'm also a developer, and I wouldn't want to take the chance myself.

If they want something, they will call us, until then I won't live in fear.

If that would be so easy to sue others just because of smilar words chosen in a title, then you couldn't use any words in a book or anywhere else. They could sue us, if I would make a game based on the movie or their characters, but my game has nothing to do with them, so...

There were a case, where a german guy (I believe he was german) copyrighted the words "A Klasse" because he knew, mercedes will bring cars out named like that and he thought he can cash up.

Nada. You can't do that since. And like he couldn't do it, so can't Mercedes or warner brothers. The name Windows may be copyrighted, but you can do it just as a trade mark with that font type, with that logo and only in relation to OS software.

Nobody can tell me, that I can't write a book or a movie script with the title Windows if it is about a house, where a guy observes his neighbours through the windows and discovers different cases of social interaction, drama and personal views etc.

And secondly, I am in Hungary, they are in the US. They can kiss my ass from there. Then I could copyright those words here in Hungary and I could sue them too, because in opposite of the beliefs of many, there is no such thing like worldwide copyright.

Thats all well and good, but they could likely get you for using the name in the US if they wanted to. Even if you are based in Hungary, since you are using it in the US Apple Store.

"Space Jam" is trademarked. I would change the name as well. Otherwise, Warner Bros. may sue you.

It doesn't matter if you are in Hungary. All it takes is one letter from WB's legal team to Apple for Apple to immediately yank your app from the App Store.

And yes, they can trademark the phrase "Space Jam" so no one else can use it.

but I think I get a new legal team your legal staff sucks, or maybe you had better start looking. not sure if WB will come after you, but if you keep going this route someday your going to be in a world of hurt. perhaps sooner then latter.

oh one other question if another Dev decided to put out a game called Space Jam you guys are cool with that? and then maybe another soon there 5 apps all called Space Jam why not anybody can use them right? it's a generic name after all.
