.avis?

I downloaded an episode of Friends in an .avi format, but I found I couldn't play it on either Quicktime or Windows Media Player. What do I have to download to watch these?

I have found that .avi can mean a whole lot of different formats. The way to find which one you need is when you open it in Quick time and it will usually tell you what format it's in to do this you have to go to window and select show movie info. What you can usually do to find it is google the format and you might find a site that will have a decoder.
