We're buying a new scanner at work since our hp scanjet 3500 took a dive (thank god... though the scanning was high quality the mac support was awful). So we're in the market for a good cross platform (possibly network enabled) scanner for both documents and graphics. I'd like to spend under $150 but would be open to some slightly more expensive suggestions.
Thanks for your help.

Would I get a better response to this in the Hardware forum?

I've always had good results with Epson scanners...
They have one for $150, and one for $200, both with great Mac compatibility.

if you can find one still, the Microtek ScanMaker 5900 is an awsome scanner for like $129 now. I don't think they make it anymore, but it is awsome. Don't get the 5950, its not as good, and some some document feeder that doesn't work on a mac. If you want to spend more, i highly recommed the Microtek ScanMaker 6800 (~$220-280). It is a mean mofo, and makes the most beautiful scans. Epson also makes good scanners, but from experience, i like Microtek better. I have a ScanMaker 8700 now ($450-650) and that is the best flatbed scanner i have ever used. I highly reccomend any Microtek.

I've been pretty content with the epson 3170 photo....that's near your price range anyway

I'll add my vote for any of the Epsons.
