I'll be putting some DVD quality movies onto my Touch and I'd like them to take up the smallest amount of space whilst still looking good on the Touch's screen. Which video format takes up the least amount of space whilst retaining decent picture quality?

I use Handbrake to do conversions with the iPod Touch preset. Works great.

.MP4 is the only movie file the iPod touch can read. Go into HandBrake and select Apple in the right hand sidebar, then select iPhone/iPod touch

I thought it could read H.264, or is that the same thing?

Works. And looks/sounds good too.
