That took the Justice Secretary far too long…
(And for those of you too young to know what the fuss is about: Great Train Robbery (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Train_Robbery_%281963%29)
Great Train Robber Ronnie Biggs has been granted release from his prison sentence on compassionate grounds, Justice Secretary Jack Straw has said.

He explained that the decision was based on medical evidence that Biggs's condition had deteriorated and he was not expected to recover.

Biggs is severely ill in hospital with pneumonia and doctors have said there is "not much hope" for him.

Biggs, 79, was refused parole by Mr Straw last month.

He rejected a recommendation by the Parole Board which said the risk Biggs posed was "manageable".

The inmate of Norwich Prison, who turns 80 this weekend, was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in June suffering from a chest infection.
What risk could this guy pose?

He should serve his time in full - even if it means he dies there.

Why not?

Because murderers get let out early.

I really don't care that much to be honest.

I just think it would be poetic if he ended up dying in Jail.

For the lulz if you will.

Well I could picture them letting him out early on good behavior, quite frankly, because it looks like he can't really do anything bad.

Still, someone's condition shouldn't set them free. Let's say there was another 80 year old who was as healthy as an ox, (they exist) should he be released?

That is an epic thing, and while i didn't know the specific details, i had heard about "The Great Train Robbery"

This reminds me of the movie "The Bank Job"
