i currently have 1 XP partition of 60GB on my uMBP, and the other 260GB is used for OSX.

I now want to partition off 80GB for a Windows 7 OS. Bootcamp only seems to allow 1 partition, solution???

Use Disk Utility to make another partition, boot from the disk, and choose that partition.

Use Disk Utility to make another partition, boot from the disk, and choose that partition.

that was my thinking, in DU, under partition i can see my Macintosh HD and BOOTCAMP partitions.

if i select, Mac and click '+' to add a partition, it will only let me format as "Mac OS Extended Journaled" i want NTFS

You will need to install NTFS-3G (http://www.ntfs-3g.org/) to format NTFS

But it really isn't that simple
There are triple boot threads around here that will help
MRoogle (http://mroogle.edesignuk.com/) will help you find them

Make another partition in Disk Utility. The format doesn't matter.

Install rEFIt.

Run rEFIt's partition utility, which runs a program called 'gptsync' which will sync the GPT table with the MBR table.

Install Windows.

You cannot do this! You can have a maximum of 3 visible partitions on a drive with GUID partition table. The last partition can be a Windows partition. You cannot have more than one Windows partition on a GUID partitioned drive.
