I am looking at purchasing a new iMac when they are refreshed/reduced but I was wondering, is there any way of getting an SSD in an iMac without opening it up myself?

I know their are excellent guides out there to opening up the new iMacs but I'd hate to spend £1200+ on a new iMac then get fingerprints or dust or something under the screen.

Unless they have an option of an SSD drive, you pretty much have to crack it open to do the install.

Not sure what it's like in the UK, but here in oz most resellers will offer a service to change over drives in imacs.

Some resellers might offer SSD as an upgrade. I'm quite sure that next upgrade will bring SSDs to iMac, maybe even double SSDs because they are 2.5" and iMac uses 3.5" drives
