I'm looking to upgrade my aluminum macbook RAM to 4GB. Where is a good place to buy it from. A place that has quality RAM, and quality services/support.

Crucial, you can always check NewEgg for lower price.

What company does crucial get their memory from? Or is the memory made strictly by Crucial?

Crucial makes their own memory. I've purchased ram from Newegg and OWC (http://macsales.com/) and both have worked fine.

I don't have the right tools to unscrew the small screws in my laptop and I don't want to risk breaking the computer while upgrading the RAM. So, can Apple upgrade the RAM for free if I have apple care?

Go out and get the screwdriver dude. Apple aint going to do that unless you buy the RAM sticks from them.

I'm no mechanical genius, but I can assure you that installing new RAM isn't difficult at all. I got my RAM from crucial.com; had no problems with it and would definitely recommend them. Great site for finding which RAM you need, too. And then assuming you have a screwdriver, the installation process is simple, especially if you follow instructions a) in your Mac's manual or b) on ifixit.com (http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/MacBook-Unibody-RAM/757/1)
Just make sure you really snap it in there (you may think you're forcing it in)... because at first I didn't do it enough and the RAM fell out after a day or so.

Hi all,
im having a couple Ram issues myself...i have the old 2 gen Macbook 1.83 512 mb 667mhz 60gb...Cannot install leopard being that i only have 512 for memory (2x 256)...Went to the apple site, found the correct Ram for my macbook for upgrade, and it seems that i am able to upgrade to 2gb (2x1gb)...but the prices are too high @ apple...went to best buy bought (2x1gb) for much cheaper (kingston), installed them...but not working..macbook wont turn on..am i doing something wrong? im using pc 2 5300 20 pin 2x1gb kingston memory which is Mac compatible...or does this old macbook not handle 2gb of ram like apple site shows?...thanks in advance for the help.
here is what the apple store recomends ..very expensive though:
