I want to play Carmageddon 3 on my Mac Pro. It was never ported to Mac so I took a fresh HD, installed OS X, used Booth Camp to install a fresh Windows XP service pack 2, the Mac drivers and then installed Carmageddon TDR 2000, which I bought at Amazon.de.
However, I won't run past the first startup screen. I Googled for hours and found this:
I tried lower display settings, like 600x800
Tried seting the 'Compatibility Mode' to Windows 95 and Win 98/ME
I searched the 'net and found an XP patch from the publisher and installed it but to no reveal.
Tested C3 on a friends old (and loud) XP PC and it ran fine, even without the patch! It starts a first-time-screen-init app the first time
Tried to start the screen-settings/init app but even that won't run further than the Carmageddon startup screen.
Does anyone have the golden tip for me? Pretty please?
