If this is true, expect audio over DisplayPort to be turned on in all those new Macs.

Caveman

can mini display support all the same audio formats as HDMI (I assume it can)?

I was interested in this product:

http://www.prweb.com/releases/2009/07/prweb2622184.htm

which claims to able to pass LPCM over the mini display port, however I was unaware that OSX supports LPCM audio?

Cheers

What I don't understand is itunes doesnt even have dvd support. Well I have never played a dvd in itunes, why would we expect a blu-ray disk to play in itunes. It's not that I don't like the idea, it just doesn't mesh with what I see Apple do in the past. but that again, apple does surprise me once in a while.

If what is true?...... The fact that your plex box now runs cooler.

I think you`ve posted the wrong link;)

I must have been really excited. I've fixed it now.

I suspect it'll be for DRM reasons, it it's even true. Blu-ray is much more intensive on parsing the OS for compliance.

It has the bandwidth, but whether or not it can passthrough True-HD or DTS-HD is not entirely clear.
