View Full Version : How can you tell an X-25M gen 1 from gen. 2?

I've read in posts that the 2nd generation of X-25M is supposed to be out. How can you tell which is gen 1 and gen 2? I've been looking at newegg.com and they just list one model and it says nothing about with gen. it is.

It has Gen2 in the product code. Its also light grey in color, the sticker that is.

Yup. Besides the silver coloring, the gen2 also has a black shim around the border to bring it to the standard 9.5mm thickness.

Also, if they mention the 34nm size then it's for sure Gen 2. But yes, it is confusing!

But, you can't find them right now because they are recalled. I wonder when they will be back in stock? I did see where NewEgg dropped the price of the older models.
