Seeing as the Macbook Pro series has the option for an illuminated keyboard, would you buy one for your desktop (iMac, Mac Pro, Mac Mini) if one was available?

I've occasionally thought this would be a cool idea, but i always have a light at my desk so it wouldnt really help me much. Sure would look cool though. OCZ makes a keyboard called the Illuminati (http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/ocz_peripherals/ocz_alchemy_series_illuminati_keyboard) thats not backlit, but the characters on the keys glow.

Seeing that I don't use it on my MacBook Pro, I don't know. Although at some point when you are paying over $100, it seems like it would be a nice feature.

We're already being charged >$50 for Apple keyboards, they should throw some LED's in there free of charge! ;)

My Saitek Eclipse II has illuminated keys; they're really very useful.

I use my Apple bluetooth keyboard as a media center controller, so having backlit keys would absolutely help me use the keyboard as well as find it.;)

Considering that Apple's BT keyboard is $80 it should come with LED backlighting. My monitor only illuminates my keyboard when the brightness is high enough to give me a headache. And I use my keyboard away from my monitor as a media control device like geoffreak and backlighting would be very helpful.

IMO the new keyboards should have black keys (to match Apple's current products) and illuminated keys

I would totally get one, there's almost no reason that at least the USB keyboards aren't backlit. It might be tough to slap a battery onto the painfully thin BT keyboard but hey, I'd buy it.
