This auto charger fits flush with the cigarette lighter. http://www.belkin.com/pressroom/releases/uploads/assets/media/hi-res/F8Z446_HighRes.jpg
Is it okay to keep it plugged in when out of the car, since my cigarette lighter has power to it at all times? Concern is either running car battery down or burning out the little green light on the charger.

My mom owns a ford that keeps the cigarette powered at all times and she always leaves it plugged in, I don't think her battery has ever drained. But it's her daily driver so the battery draw may be minimal. That's a pretty cool usb charger, if my head unit did not already have the usb on it's face I would definitely check that one out.
