I am doing work with a six monitor setup. We are trying to create a movie that will run on all six monitors, and is designed that way so that it isn't just a widescreen movie stretched funny across six screens. Is there a way to expand the aspect ratio past widescreen in imovie so that we can create our project in imovie?

Thank You!

This sounds like a job for After Effects. I'd be surprised if you could make imovie have something like a 4k resolution, which would be needed in a situation like this.

What kind of stuff is going on the six monitors? is it individual video/graphics on each screen or is it supposed to be one big giant video across the displays?

It is one big movie, not separate ones for each screen. It is supposed to flow together and be an immersive environment.

No chance in hell in doing this in iMovie, FCP or Final Cut. This is purely an After Effects/VFX job. Also, how are you going to do playback?

Thanks for your help. This video is being designed for the SCUBE, a digital immersive environment project at RIT. We're going to run it on a specially built computer, designed to handle this many screens at once. Here's a link to a video about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YW5s9biJIUg

really cool stuff. But as suggested above, imovie cant do this job. Use After Effects
