you seem to have quite an eclectic mix so i doubt there will be much you absolutely hate

so look up:
Clutch
David Bowie (his earlier stuff like 'Hunky Dory'
Kate Bush ('Hounds of Love' or 'The Dreaming' my favs... dont go for 'Aerial' might be a little off the wall for some)
Bjork (particularly her album 'Medulla' [if youre music techy nerdy then thats an awesome one almost all the sounds you hear are made with the voice])
Pink Floyd (DSOTM 'nuff sed)
Talking Heads ('Stop Making Sense' the live album they did)
The Beatles
Cake
Bedouin Soundclash
KT Tunstall
James Holden
Skindred
HED P.E.

i'll just stop listing bands because my list will end up as long as your original one :P

but yeah none of them are terrible... you like you may not... 'sup to you i guess XD

Ya know, Skinny Puppy is alright but not one of my favs. I know that's sacrilegious as far as the Industrial scene goes, but they've just never sat well with me. But you're right, their status provides them the consideration.

I have a lot I recommend but to keep it close to what you have:

Amber Pacific
Metro Station
The White Tie Affair

I have found a lot (60%+) of new music through the Genius Recommendations panel in the iTunes store.

Well, I don't know why, but I think the reason I have such a diverse music collection is because I'm in different moods. Lately, it's been the pop-rock scene, like All Time Low, All-American Rejects, Boys Like Girls, Cute Is What We Aim For, Yellowcard, etc.

I recommend Junior Boys, Madrugada, M83, Interpol, Sigur Rós, The Veils and Ozark Henry.

Diverse? It's pretty much all pop.

Try some:

Mogwai
65daysofstatic
Maybeshewill
Explosions in the Sky
Machine Head
**** Buttons (Ugh, damn censorship. It's F##k Buttons).
Pelican
Russian Circles
Mew (Ok, it's pop too, but they're great).
