I don't know what it is and can't figure out how to get rid of the message bubble with the exclamation. please help!

not its not... the message for sms is the bubble icon without the exclam. Plus i have no new sms messages.

edit: I uninstalled status notifier and it's still there. wtf!

Could it be that it is telling you an sms failed to send? That is what I can think of =/

yeah thats the icon I get with irealquicksms, its only there when I don't read one, tap that icon and see what happens if you haven't already, it brings up unread messages for me. I know you said you don't have any messaging apps, but what can it hurt?

+1. If what he told you doesn't work, then you may have to restore to get rid of it. Have you rebooted your phone?

Have you tried re-installing status notifier? And are you certain that you don't have a messaging program that was previously installed and maybe hidden with poof or put into a folder with categories that's still looming in the background? Do you have anything like LockscreenInfo installed? That also puts those same icons in your statusbar.

I tried googling this and found people who had the issue with the mail icon, they downloaded a program to mark all mail as read and it cleared it. Haven't found any solutions for the sms icon. Maybe try deleting all the conversations? I'd save the sms.db file with winscp first since I'm weird and like to keep them. I hope you do find a solution, that would drive me crazy too. :(

You just need to log in to iblacklist to clear the log :)

Yup agree with the above...took me a while to understand why i had a missed call symbol when there no record of it shown on the phone log. eventually discovered that it was a phone call that was blocked by iBlacklist. if you have iBlacklist on your iphone then check the blacklist records, having done this this should clear the bubble & hypen symbol from your status bar!

Simgar, are you using lockinfo? If you are, that icon may be from the native push notification plugin. There's an option to turn it off in settings>>lockinfo>>plugins>>notifications>> disable "Status Bar Icon"

If you're not using lockinfo, I can't help you.

That's not the default push icon though, I don't think. I though that the LI push icon was a triangle with an exclamation point... Like the icon on my post :D
