View Full Version : Got iBEC and iBSS Files. Need ECID?

Hi, so yeah I did a search but most are a couple of months old and I just wanted to make sure of this.
I got both quite easily using the "iBEC and iBSS grabber". Now I am kinda confused. Do I still need to get the ECID number? Or is that old news and only the iBEC and IBSS are important now?

ok I got it i believe

for me it's 0000018CAA1DB50D
but I don't get why or where you have to enter it in for purplerain. Anyone?

also best way to get out of recovery mode so I dont have to go through another recovery?

1st you need both iBEC and iBSS and you need it for 3.1 not yet released. also if it were me I wouldn't it your numbers no reason to tell anybody. seriously read some sticky above you. there are so many threads video's on this if read the stuff by the dev team you would have seen it's for 3.1 also purplera1n is not Dev and only works with 3.0 not 3.0.1 not to be confused with the unreleased 3.1

To get out of rec mode hold home and the power button.
I'd get the ecid number and file from geohot also to make sure I can jailbreak the device in the future. Save everything on a safe location for future use.

There's a need for the ECID number IF you are going to use Geohot's next jailbreak (3.1), which we aren't sure at this point he will do.

The other two you have are for the Dev Team's next jailbreak.

So you need one or the other. At this point I'd probably say what you have already is the most important.

when 3.1 comes out wait to upgrade I know this is hard but you are better off to wait until the Dev or Geohotz come up with the jb it might be a month or more before it's cracked nobody know how tough it will be before it's released.

For a short time he had a website up that would allow you to enter the ECID and it would spit out your file. I'm not sure if he took that page down or not. I haven't seen it for a while.
