No, the purpose of the event is to reveal the new iPods. However, Apple will also announce, and possibly release 3.1 which will undoubtly include MMS.

I don't think you guys get the difference between "Revolution" and "Evolution".


The first iPhone was revolutionary.

Each iPhone after that was an evolution of the iPhone.


No iPhone for the next few years will be revolutionary, if ever.

No, the purpose of the event is to reveal the new iPods. However, Apple will also announce, and possibly release 3.1 which will undoubtly include MMS.

3.0 has MMS. AT&T carrier's file does not have it as an option. Two separate items and APPLE has already had their big iphone/MMS announcement

The US is the only place that doesn't have MMS for the iPhone. And the media event is for devices worldwide.

I think what they are trying to get at is the fact that 3.1 will come with the new carrier file.

they may announce the release of 3.1 at this media event but like others mentioned this media event would not be primarily for this purpose...

99% chance it's to release a refresh to the iPod... they usually do the iPod refresh in September....

Also I wouldn't bank on 3.1 coming with a carrier update for you AT&T folks... if AT&T wanted to give you guys MMS they would release it as soon as they were ready to not wait for apple to release yet another update...
