Custom Messages Background via SSH?

I've changed my chat balloons different colors dozens of times via SSH and now I'd like to take it a step further:

Is there a way to change the background (image behind the chat balloons) via SSH? A .png file?

I would just like a nice solid black to help the balloons stand out. :)

Thank you for the link! Although, there doesn't seem to be an explanation/tutorial for changing the Messages background image in 3.0. :confused:
