DVD to iMovie HD [Archive] - MacRumors Forums

I need to cut a bit from a DVD I did for a demo reel, and i want to edit it in iMovie HD on my mac. I've downloaded handbrake, mactheripper, and MPEG streamclip in order to this. I've literally been trying to do this for 10 hours today.

My latest problem is I'm converting the file into a .dv file, but once in iMovie HD the clip is grey and I can't cut it up as i wish.

Please help I am going insane.

Rip it to a mpeg4 or .mov and try it.

I've tried .mov

How would I go about ripping it into a mpeg4 and with which ripper?

Just tried the .mov again and it worked! Maybe computer was being slow, and after hours of frustrations I got impatient? :confused:

Handbrake will use all cores for ripping. Not sure what your using. What did you use to get .mov?
